There is not one miracle program for everyone, so our trainers will personalize a program specifically to help you
reach your goals and will continue making adaptations throughout your whole time with them.

Registration:
The process for attaining a personal trainer couldn't be simpler.
At the front desk of either branch, you can fill out a personal training request form.
The information you supply here will enable the Program Coordinator to assign you the most suitable trainer.
The trainer will then guide you from here.
You will be contacted and your free initial consultation will be set up.
At this appointment, your trainer will perform a few basic assessments and accumulate the information
that will serve as the baseline for your current fitness level.
In addition to the basic tests, you have the option of adding a more comprehensive assessment into your training time.
The tests that are carried out will help your trainer develop a more complete picture of your present state of fitness,
therefore enabling a more specific program to be developed.
The optional assessment consists of:
Body composition analysis
Girth measurements
Aerobic capacity
Muscular strength & endurance
Flexibility
The fee for the optional assessment is $25. If purchased with 10 or more sessions, you will receive a free assessment
of the same protocol.
It's Fun:
Working out does not have to be a chore.
Your trainer will guide you through a workout and make adaptations to make sure you have fun doing it.
As the results start visibly appearing, you'll start really enjoying yourself
and remember the investment is minimal compared to the lifelong benefits you will gain.
Youth
Training:
With the growing demand for youth fitness, we've expanded our horizons
to give under 14 users an option.
It is important to be aware of the risks involved with training at a young age
and the permanent physical damage that can be caused if done incorrectly.
So, to cater to our younger clientele, we are pleased to offer one-on-one training with our personal trainers -
experts trained to avoid the dangers and get results.
Policies:
Outside trainers are not permitted.
All exercise instruction and personal training is to be performed by Broome County YMCA fitness staff only.
Participants will be charged for no-shows or canceled appointments if less than twelve hours notice is given.
In case of a medical emergency, medical notes will be required to prevent session charge.
Our expiration policy is that any sessions purchased and not used within 6 months will no longer be valid.
In the case that numerous sessions are purchased, 6 months of inactivity will result in invalidity.
Services exchange or direct payment to the trainer is not allowed and may result in termination.
Personal training sessions are non-transferable.
The YMCA reserves the right to assign alternative personal trainers as necessary.
